Welcome To My Wedding Notebook

In sixth grade, I dreamed of someday having my own wedding magazine. Looking back, the signs were probably there even earlier. When I was in second or third grade, I saved up my money to buy my favorite movie at the time, the 1998 version of The Parent Trap, on VHS of course. The iconic wedding dress photoshoot scene in Elizabeth James' bridal shop still lives rent free in my head. And years later at my own wedding, my first dance with my husband was to Nat King Cole’s “L-O-V-E,” a little nod to the movie and Elizabeth and Nick Parker’s love story in the opening scene.

So maybe weddings have always had a little piece of my heart.

When I planned my wedding back in 2014, I remember feeling like there was so much I didn’t know and not nearly enough information to help me figure it all out. Today, brides have access to more ideas, advice, vendors and inspiration than ever before, and I love that. It’s a big part of what Whitetail Wedding is here to provide.

But alongside all that inspiration, I think there’s room for some real-life perspective, too. Social media can introduce us to incredible ideas and possibilities, but comparison can also be a thief of joy. Your wedding doesn’t have to look like someone else’s to be beautiful, meaningful or worth celebrating.

And that’s where Wedding Letters from Molly comes in.

Think of this as a more personal corner of Whitetail Wedding. We’ll talk about beautiful ideas and practical tips, but I’ll also share real observations from the wedding world, stories that stick with me, trends I’m loving, opinions I want to share and those “okay, we need to talk about this” moments.

We’ll talk about couples, love stories, vendors, traditions, marriage, business and the wedding industry itself. We’ll celebrate the beautiful things while making plenty of room for the real things, too.

I may not have the wedding magazine I dreamed about in sixth grade, but Whitetail Wedding feels a whole lot like the modern-day version of that dream.

So, consider this a peek inside my wedding notebook. I’m glad you’re here.
